WOYWW no. 158

Well, yesterday was a rather productive day - finally, after a couple of weeks feeling like Dr Death's missus... my dh and I caught a nasty tummy bug and have just been passing it back and forth... thankfully, the kids are as right as rain :)

Anyway, the desk...

First a card I'm making for my Dad - Fathers' Day on Sunday :) The image isn't great, I'm afraid - it's another dull and drizzly day, and I don't know how to 'mute' the flash highlights...

It's a collage of stuff he likes - music (he's always listening to the radio, CDs, vinyl, cassettes in the car...), some script (he's an avid reader), a map (he's a great walker), flowers (he loves nature and he's a mean flower arranger!), and a good boy eating an apple (I think my dad's the only person I know who isn't a vegetarian, yet he gets his 5-a-day each and every day!!) No wonder he looks so good at 70 :)

And my beautiful ATC from the lovely Ann

... a celebration of WOYWW third anniversary the other week - I shall treasure it :)

And on the right of the desk, a journal where I'm working on this week's IA challenge 'Chickens and Roosters'. I've missed a few challenges lately, so I'm hoping the energy levels remain high enough to finish it...

I'm thinking I'll stamp 'Today is a new day...' across the page between the rooster and the butterflies...

Well, I'll go see if Mr Linky is up over at Julia's Stamping Ground - he's gone AWOL... probably in Poland enjoying the footie...

Then I can hop around the globe taking a peek at everyone else's desks :)

Have a great Wednesday!!

The card for your dad is very sweet. And I am glad you feel better, sending you sunshine from the Highlands!

Thought I recognised that ATC....
Lovely card for your Dad and I like your cockerel stamp - I have a thing about chickens as my Grandma used to keep them when I was little.

Ouf, tummy bugs are the worst, poor you. So exhausting, do be careful to keep yourself rested. You're terribly well prepared..I know it's Father's Day, but I'm kinda not really ready. OK, not started. Well done you!

That's a great collage for your dad. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.
I'm glad to say I took the Spanish sun with me for my visit, but sadly for friends and family over there, I seem to have brought it back with me, and they are now flooded out again!
i hope you are feeling much better soon,

Love the card you made for your dad, Claire. Great making cards for them, with the things they like, isn't it!! I love your cockerel and butterflies page too - really subtle and beautiful.

I would absolutely love to swap with you, and yes, of course, a Postcard would be acceptable - more than acceptable! I'll email you my snail mail address.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, and glad you like my busy desk!

Sorry to be so long responding but I've been having problems with my comments awaiting moderation not being visible - it turns out it's a Blogger/Firefox problem since the latest Firefox upgrade, so I'm temporarily using IE till they sort it out - hopefully soon!

Happy belated WOYWW,
