WOYWW 192 - More snail-mail...

Here's my desk today, with more snail mail to post, and more lil' creations to finish to get in the mail...

On the top of the pile is this:

a postcard I've made to send to Jane Davies, who's trying to save her adorable little post office. She's hoping an increase in the volume of mail will do the trick, and the first 200 responses will get a card made my her :)
Our village PO was under threat of closure last year, but we managed to save it, so this was a project close to my heart...

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed a new calendar on my desk...

... it's from the lovely Tuire in Finland (it has both Finnish and Swedish dates on it), and it was just one of the  beautiful treasures she sent me, after I sent her some English goodies...

She included some Finnish book pages, a beautiful ATC she'd made, with its own precious envelope, some pearl buttons and a lovely letter adorned with her new stamps :)

There really is no better way to brighten someone's day than real mail!! So, if you'd like a wee letter, just send your address to me (claire[dot]sauer@ntlworld[dot]com) - the loveliest people frequent Blogland, and real letters just spread the love that little further!

For more blog lovin', hop over to Julia at her Stamping Ground and spy on other crafty peoplees' desks...

And I leave you with today's quote:

We are shaped and fashioned by what we love.
Goethe

Till next week xxx

Great post, and thanks for sharing the lovely pictures of the fun mail you have received. Love the exchanges, we also had PO problems but they just cut their hours so that was better than being closed. Happy WOYWW #11 Sylvia/LittleTreasures.

Lovely envelopes - I am a sucker for pointing fingers, open palms, anything like that. And I always get a bit of a jolt when I see the header.

Hi there, just a quick visit to see what you are up to. Unfortunately, the EM is unwell and needs looking after so time is limited today. Lovely post and I do hope your friend's PO is saved - they are vital hubs in the smaller communities. Hope your WOYWW has been happy. Elizabeth x #55

More happy snail mail! I hope they can save the little PO, our villages need facilities, not everyone has a car or a bus service that they can use.

You have some lovely things on your desk there and I love that calender. I love having calenders from other countries, not just for the pictures but the language and the different holidays. It's fascinating.

I've just read your profile and was very moved by your story. I'm so pleased that you have found something you love to do which is aiding your recovery.

I live just round the corner from our village post office and know just how important they are in a small community, so hats off to you all for supporting your local POs. Thank you for visiting me on WOYWW - I'll be popping in again soon. MM x #144
