WOYWW 195 - Something old, something new...

My desk yesterday afternoon... Yes, another gloomy day in England...

My lovely Daddy found my old typewriter and brought it over at the weekend. Gosh, I've missed this beauty! It's been sealed away in its case, in the original box, for over 25 years - I wrote most of my A-level essays on this baby - and yes, it still works!!!!

And what do you think to my sleek, new LED craft lamp? I love it, and it makes such a difference!! Another ebay bargain, which didn't arrive in time to show last week :)

I'll leave you a sample of my beloved Typey's work - I'm typing out favourite quotes to cut out for collage and art-making - and yes, to add to my quote box!
Pretty impressive for 25-year-old ribbon...

Now, I'm away to Julia's Stamping Ground for a day's snooping around other fun desks and craft spaces...

Till next week xxx

Oh, I remember those days... also I have wrote school esseys with that kind of typewriter. Mine was not that good, and I have to say, that when I got my first computer, I realized, that it was the answer to my prayers...
Happy WOYWW!

Love the look of old type and your ribbon is perfect even after 25 years. They don't make them like that anymore.

There is definitely 'something' about an old typewriter, isn't there? :)
Your's is lovely... mine was a battered old second hand one that could only type in wonky lines. Oh, how I loved it!
Have a wonderful WOYWW!

Happy for you to have your old found treasure. We've missed the 2 days of snowy blizzards in the midwest. I'm so ready for spring. Enjoy WOYWW # 7

great looking typewriter! I like the lamp too! I wish I had kept my typewriter but when I got the first word processor I sold it at a profit! Thanks for sharing. Vickie #39

Lovely sleek lamp but ...
The typewriter steals the show. Gosh, not seen one of these in ages but I too did my thesis (years ago) on a typewriter with ribbon in. Would love to get hold of a really old one, they look so great - when I think of all the things I would love that I have thrown away in the past.
Ah well!
Hugs, Neet 27 xx

I've got one Claire, my sister bought it me for Christmas. It's not in it's original carrier which is sad but it does work properly.
Love the words you've typed.

Oh, we have the same machine...my ribbon is erm a little bit older and since I started using it again when I found it about a year ago, it's faded fast...thank goodness for ebay! The biggest thing for me about typing now is the noise - how did we put up with that!!

Oh I forgot already to say - yes, a card for WOYWW4...whatever suits and allows you to join in!

Very on trend :) Typewritten style is very in right now. Yours looks as good as new. Like the new lamp, I got an LED a few months ago and wished I'd done it sooner. Happy WOYWW Cx #96

Love that typewriter.
My godparents worked in Ollivetti when I was small and remember seeing all of the old ones he kept.

Fantastic that you have been reunited with your typewriter, and just the job for the quotes. I tend not to get rid of things and can't believe I actually gave mine away :-(
Happy art making

What a great heirloom find! My sister used to have one similar, here's was dark and pale blue and was in a pale blue hard case, I remember it well. I hope you have fun getting reacquainted.
