WOYWW 213 - Address Box bargain

No art stuff going on Tuesday evening, just me filling in address cards for my new address box.

It's from East of India, and I've coveted one for so long, but they sell for £25 - eek!!

Then, last week I 'won' this one on ebay for £7 - brand new!! I was soooo happy!

Here's a close-up of the cute cards, that match the box, with my faithful lil angel holding them down, so I can record the names and addresses of friends and family.

It's hard work - I've only got to M so far... but it'll be wonderful when they're all done. I've never liked address books, where you have to cross out the address when someone moves. This way, I just throw away the card and fill out a new one :)

Now, what's happening on your desk this week? Ms Julia knows over on her Stamping Ground :)

Have a great week xxx

Happy WOYWW. That is gorgeous. I love designs like that. My sister gave me a fab Paperchase address book for Xmas, so I am using that, but writing with pencil so I can update it easily. Ali x #33

Gotta love e-bay! The box is a brilliant idea, I agree about all the crossing out, a throwback to school, I'm sure, when we got told off for having crossing out in our work! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #41 xx

Hi Claire - I love East of India products too and you definitely had a great "win" there!

The cereal box and crackle glaze worked well up to a point, but I didn't put it on thick enough so didn't get much crackle - don't know how well it will stand up to a thicker layer but feedback I've been getting today seems to suggest it works OK (and it's a cheap alternative to Grungeboard!)

Thanks for your visit, have a great week. MMx #47

What a gorgeous address box, Claire, and as you say, a very clever idea, much better than a book. I love your little angel too!

Thank you so much for your good wishes for my upcoming medical test - it's a worrying time but I'm trying not to worry in view of the only 1-in-10 having cancer, but it's not easy!! Going to the hosp. tomorrow a.m. for a preliminary chat, and hopefully the examination will be early next week. I just want it all out of the way.

So glad you like our new house! My new ARTHaven is going to be so awesome and I can't wait to start unpacking my boxes and getting it all set up. I've got a beautiful shabby chic shelf unit coming from Ebay to go over the fireplace to display artwork. I'm soooo excited about it all!

Happy WOYWW,

Happy you found a bargain in an object you coverted. So impressed that you are writing down addresses. Cards are way better than a book and such a nice spot to hold them
