WOYWW 215 - A Full House Again :)

The wanderers have returned...

Sam's safely back from Slovakia, and Esther had her Duke of Edinburgh expedition Friday--Sunday. For two days and nights we were true empty-nesters, fun while it lasted, but I much prefer a full house :)

So thank you sooooo much for all the lovely comments, prayers and good wishes last week - they really lifted my spirits!! And Sam had a wonderful, albeit exhausting, time cycling the hills of Slovakia :)

And here's my desk as of Tuesday evening...

The UK's in the middle of a mega-heat-wave, so I can only sit at my desk for short spells, before my right hand and foot swell up...

So, throughout yesterday, I tore pages out of last year's We'Moon diary. The artwork, poetry and articles are so thought-provoking and uplifting, they are perfect to use in my art journal!

I'll show what I make of them next week :)

Bless all you dear, dear WOYWWers gathered over at St Julia's Stamping Ground xxx

I'll leave you with a few pics of Sam's adventures, taken with his old phone, so they're not the best quality...

The heat definitely does impact your crafting doesn't it....but you definitely have a great set up to do so with a what looks like a lovely outlook. The cloud photo of your son reminds me of the thick winter fogs we are currently experiencing here. It looks like he has had a wonderful adventure. Happy WOYWW! Danie #34

Thank the lord for AC. I'd melt without it. I am in TOTAL agreement with you, I'd rather have a full house too. I have 5 kids, 26, 24, 19, 16, & 13. When they were younger I used to tell DH how I looked forward to when we had some peace & quiet. Now 3 of my 5 are living on their own, and I'd give anything for the noise & chaos again. SNIFF…SNIFF!!! I love the paintings on and around your desk. The one to the right, the face of a girl is really awesome. The pics are amazing. Have a great week. (((HUGS)))

So glad they returned safely to the nest! It looks like Sam had a great trip - cycling through a cloud looks amazing. I remember going to Tenerife and seeing hills misted by clouds below me, really strange! Sorry to hear about the swelling. Let's hope it cools down just a little and you can get back into crafting again soon.. prepping can be fun too, though, Julie Ann x#45

Hi Claire

Loving the look of your desk and look forward to seeing those pages being used
have a great day enjoy the rest of your week

Looks like a fab time in Slovakia, isn't it beautiful. Am enjoying short bursts at my desk too, it's hot in the afternoons! Lovely way to upcycle an diary - specially one you're reluctant to part with - using it this way means it really still has a life instead of just being on a shelf.

You do get used to the nest being empty, really you do, it took me us a while (more so my other half)and then I gained a craft room and the rest is history. love the pages I wonder what you are going to do with them?

LOL! Lovely when they come home, if only for an hour - after that I could quite happily smack my DS. Him and his laundry...

The heat is not compatible with crafting is it? Everything just dries too fast, esp. the stuff you want to stay wet and manipulatable, like paint! Oh well, we soldier on...

Happy (late) WOYWW!

Sorry to hear you're suffering in the heat, Claire - same here! I hate it and hope it cools down soon. I have fans running all the time! The pics of your son's trips are great, especially the one cycling. Glad to hear you are able to do short bursts of creative work despite the heat!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Those photos are incredible. Even with an old phone, they are so much better than my camera. And I understand heat. It's always hot in the middle of the US in summer. That's why I sit under the AC all summer.

Thanks for stopping by earlier. I'm not sure how late LATE is, but I'm here to wish you a beLATEd WOYWW from #2.
