WOYWW 224 - Altering postcards...

... yesterday afternoon, for the Inspiration Avenue Postcard Swap (there's a button on my right sidebar).

Sadly, I didn't think to take a pic earlier as I was working on my three postcards simultaneously. By the time I thought about it, I'd already sealed up two in their envies, but you can see this one on the desk...

And here's the back...

We've been asked to alter the backs too, but as this is a vintage card from my stash dated January 1953, I just added a couple of stickers, so as not to obscure the writing and date stamp.

Sometime, in the next few weeks, I should be receiving three altered postcards from overseas, so I'll show them when they arrive :)

In the meantime, I'm having a jolly jaunt over at Julia's Stamping Ground to see what's occurring* on others' desks...

Till next week xx

* Sorry, been watching Gavin & Stacey re-runs :)

This is so kewl to try altering old postcards I can see how hard it would be to alter the back of one if the story is great :)

I really knew someone like Nessa when I was growing up in Wales!! I loved Gavin and Stacey, brilliant piece of telly.
I have been busy making stuff which I will end to you soon, I also found some Christmas items from last year which I will get to you so they can go up fairly pronto!
Hope you are ok :-)
Hugs, LLJ 58 xx

hello claire,
it's interesting what you do with the postcards. looking at that handwriting at the back of the postcard makes me long for the days when people write letters and postcards. btw, i thank you for visiting my blog quite often. my sept. 16 post is the answer to your request to see the original painting of one of the embellished ones i posted earlier. alpha shanahan 37

Hi.
Loving having a peek at your world today. It all looks like fun from here. You asked about my tablecloth; I got it a few years ago at a medieval fair in Tenterden. It's fab isn't it. Not seen one since so am sorry can't direct you to somewhere.
Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great week.

I'm glad you left the back of the postcard unaltered, it makes great reading and I love the writing too. Look forward to seeing what you receive in return.

Toooo cooool. That so reminds me of the altered art of Winston Smith. He also did collage style album art for Jello Biafra, among others. Check him out. He's maybe a little more social and political commentary but the series where he uses old masters paintings is fab.

Happy (now my internet is back) WOYWW!

Great postcard! I've sent off some ATC's lately that I forgot to photograph. I hate when that happens! You are very generous to give away such a charming vintage card. :)

I can't imagine wanting to give that away! I hope the recipient appreciates it!

I forget to take pictures sometimes, too. Nice postcard, though. :) WOYWW#100
