WOYWW 228 - Joy mixed with sadness...

Here's my desk on Tuesday afternoon - the sun suddenly appeared just as I was getting the camera ready...

I'm making a card for Hayley, my hairdresser, who I see on Saturday for the last time :(

She's leaving to have a baby, which is such a wonderful reason to leave, but I shall miss her. She has been doing my hair for over 10 years, and while she isn't a friend, as such, you do build up a special relationship with the person who cuts and styles your hair every couple of months.

I'm just hoping she can recommend someone else in the salon...

And thank you for all your lovely comments last week. I'm so glad I shared my concerns. I now feel I can visit only as many desks as I can manage, without feeling guilty :)

You are all such lovely people gathered over at the Stamping Ground!!

My mum was a hairdresser and over the many years she worked in the trade she became a confidante and a kindly companion to so many ladies! My daughter's friend, Becky who is training now styles my hair at home and I always look forward to seeing her smiling young face and knowing she's going to make me feel so much better! Stylists do such a great job for so many reasons - creative and caring often! I hope you find another lovely lady to replace yours. Have a great WOYWW! Julie Ann xx #45

Happy WOYWW. Lovely sunny desk, full of crafty goodness. I haven't had a regular hairdresser for years - and, in fact, only go to one about 2 times per year! I still remember fondly my hairdresser from Birmingham, who cut my hair for 13 years. He will brilliant, and a true friend. Ali x #96

They say if a hairdresser could reveal all the secrets told they could make a fortune. Sad when they have to move on, the trouble is finding another good one. Great desk this week covered in crafty goodness thanks for sharing and letting me snoop.

Happy WOYWW

Oh, the same happened to me 3 weeks ago. Noone cut my hair as good as she did. Now she is getting a baby... I am so glad for her, but what am I going to do now?
Cheers

I haven't been very good with blogging lately, but I thought of you today. Barbara Gray has set up her own blog and is sharing some of her tips and techniques with us each day on http://barbaragrayblog.blogspot.co.uk/ Today's project involves the gelli plate, so I thought you might be interested.
As far as the problem of visiting desks goes, don't worry about it. Anyone who gets upset is not worth worrying about. Do whatever you feel ready and able to do and the rest of us will understand. I try to visit anyone who visits me, then if I have time, I will go for those whose number ends with the same last number that I have. So if I am number 4, then I will try to visit those whose numbers end with 4. However, it often does not happen these days, as I am trying to do the work of 2 people at the moment. The main thing is to enjoy what you do and don't let it become a chore, xx Maggie #4
