Well, here we are in 2013, dear WOYWWers!
Isn't it great to meet again?
I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and are looking forward to the new year...
Here are a couple of presents on my desk...
First, a lil gift I bought for myself from Sonia
It seemed an appropriate New Year pressie - and hope is the thing with feathers according to Miss Dickinson :o)
And a very precious surprise Xmas gift from my dear friend, Anca - how special is this???
I won't take it out of the wrapping until I find the perfect frame...
Does anybody know how I can incorporate this into my blog head, as I'd really like to use Anca's beautiful artwork in some way...
I'm looking forward to visiting your desks as often as possible in this new year, and a BIG thankyou to Julia for hosting this brilliant get-together over at her Stamping Ground!!

I love your little birdie and hope is always a good choice for word of the year. You may have problems with the orientation of your lovely gift - it probably won't stretch well as a banner photo. :( Happy new Year Annette #23

Dear Claire-I LOVE that bird!!! What a great reminder through the rest of the year. Yes, Entering the Castle is a gem. I read the book first, then got the audio tape so I could listen + paint at the same time.

I think you picked a great word, not least because it will serve to challenge you too, which always keeps the interest high. Your bird of hope is gorgeous, and although I regret I can't help about your blog header, I think the picture is a stunner, how marvellous and thoughtful a gift.
Those are lovely new gifts Claire, we can all use a bit of hope in our world can't we? Hope 2013 is a great one for you.

Drop me a line. I might be able to help with the blog banner. I don't know anything about blogger per se, but if you know the exact size of the banner it should be fairly easy to incorporate the image somehow. The it should be just a matter of uploading it in the way you blogger people do :)
It looks like the image you added is BIG so that shouldn't be a problem. I may have a play after I comment on a few more blogs and see what I can come up with and email you. This is just the kind of thing I find a bit of fun :)

The hope bird is a wonderful idea to start the new year. I chose OLW as well...I think it is such a great way to start the year!
I read back a bit...You are drawing beautifully for having to learn to draw with a new hand...don't think I could do anywhere as well as you.
I have a brain injury from a car accident...nowhere near the problems you have had to deal with...but I am familiar with some of the issues of learning things all over again.

If you scan or make a copy of your wonderful gift, you could incorporate it into a collage that would make an amazing banner head. I'm rather excited to see it.

re the banner I ended up ding mine on top of the picture in another programme and uploaded it like that if you peek at my blog but you may not be happy doing it that way - did it up in Picasa then saved in and used it that way not sure if that helps??
