Now, Halloween isn't a big deal in our house - not since the kids have grown, anyway.
But we do always have one on these on the doorstep, so the Trick and Treaters know they'll be welcome :)
But to me, this picture captures the spirit of November...
Warmth and shelter are paramount, and knowing all are safely gathered in around the fire brings me peace...

Our clocks change next weekend... can't wait hate getting up in the dark! Your fireplace looks so cosy love it! I don't put a pumpkin out as they get stolen and smashed here!
I'm with you .... love to curl up by the fire this time of year! nothing like doing a little beading, glass of wine and bead weaving :)
Great pictures to show our entry into the darker months!
And our clocks change tonight. The world is just on wonky time! I love wood heat
Claire your fireplace looks cozy and inviting. I can see why you chose it for your photo.
The fireplace looks so inviting! Best part of the season is that cozy feeling we create in our homes.. and the food.
Love the photo of the fireplace, so cozy!
I don't decorate like I used to since our kids are grown. But I still like Halloween. I miss having a fireplace but I don't miss the mess of hauling wood and cleaning it. Maybe a fake one is due for us. We changed our clocks back last night,
Oh, I want to come sit by your fireplace. It looks so warm, cozy and inviting. I can see just sitting there, sipping some tea and enjoying the warmth - lovely post!!
